Tattoo Tuesday - Hedgehog edition

In my googling efforts to find pics for today's Tattoo Tuesday, I may have discovered a WONDERFUL tumblr called Hot Tattooed Men with Cute Animals. It has equal parts steam and aww. So, today I share this adorable video with a delightfully tattooed man bathing his adorable hedgehog. =)

If you want to add your own tattoo fun, just put your link in the linky tool below! Also, if you haven't had a chance, scroll down and check out Part 4 of True Love's Kiss.

PS -To my loving sister - If this is not the correct way to bathe a hedgehog, I don't want to hear about it. Let me live in my delusions and enjoy it. =P

True Love's Kiss, Part 4

Previous Chapter - Part 3

True Love’s Kiss – Part 4

Over the next few days I was in and out of consciousness. Mostly out. I woke up a few times to Mils feeding me broth. And twice I woke up to the King’s face, hovering over mine. I could feel his hands on my head and on my chest. A strange heat seemed to emanate from where his fingers touched my flesh. I must have been suffering from fever dreams because there was no way King Kalristian was tending to me in my sickbed.

Eventually, I awoke and stayed that way. The sun was shining through the window across my bed. The bright rays seemed to bathe the room in vitality and I felt like I could jump up from the bed and travel the breadth the Unified Realms with no trouble.

I sat up too quickly and was abrubtly disabused of that notion. My sudden movement disturbed the figure I had just noticed sleeping slumped over in a chair beside my bed. As she shoved the blanket off her shoulders and turned towards me, I realized it was Mils. She looked like she’d been dragged through the hells and back. Her hair was tangled and greasy and she had deep circles under her eyes.

It took her a moment to realize what had woken her. When she saw me sitting up in the bed, a bright smile spread over her tired face. “Be, you’re awake!” She started to lurch towards me with her arms open, preparing for one of her signature lung squeezing hugs. At the last minute she jerked herself to a stop, looking sheepish and almost loosing her balance.

I smiled back at her and opened my arms. “Just be gentle, Mils.” With exagerated movements, she climbed slowly up onto the bed beside me, wrapped one arm around my shoulders and squeezed gently.

“Be, I’m so glad you’re alright.” Her voice shook a little and her arms tightened in emotion. And that’s when I thought to wonder what the hell had happened to me. As her arm pulled at my shoulder a sharp pain shot through my chest and arm, leaving me breathless with the shock of it. I couldn’t completely contain my groan and Mils shot off the bed with a horrified look on her face.

“I’m so sorry.” She gasped.

“It’s okay, Mils. It just took me by surprise. What in the hells happened to me?”

Updates and Pretty =)

A few things are going on right now that I thought I would share.

Thing the First - I posted over on Paranormal Paradigms today. My post is called "Legends of the Deep - Merpeople Throught the Ages." Go check it out!

Thing the Second - I have chosen names and generally plotted out my "Love is Always Write" story. For more info on that read this post. I am not going to post names/titles here cause that would give you unfair advantage in JenMcJ's polls over in the M/M Romance Group. Just know they are thought up and out there. =)

Thing the Third - Despite being completely busy and never sleeping I have begun to plot out a new novella/long short story. It involves a prophecy, traveling through space and time to save your one true love, one scrumptiously kilted man, and defeating an evil that rip our universe apart. It should be fun and I am hoping to finish it over the summer.

True Love's Kiss - Part 3

Previous Chapter - Part 2

True Love's Kiss - Part 3

It wasn’t very long before I heard the door scraping open again. I stood up and whirled around, planning to force whoever it was to let me go. Much to my surprise, the person who walked through the door was Mils, not some stupid overgrown hulk of a castle guard. Even more surprising was the look on her face. She looked excited.

“By the four Heavens, Be, I can’t believe you broke the curse! This is so exciting. Never in a million years did I think one of us would break it. I didn’t even think you would try. And here you are, the one who broke it.”

She was talking so fast I couldn’t get a word in. She didn’t even really breathe between sentences. My anger momentarily bled out of me as I just stared at her in bewilderment. She finally stopped to take a breath and launched herself at me. Mils wrapped her arms around me in a bear hug as strong as an eighteen year girl could manage while bouncing up and down in excitement.

Eventually, I got her to let go of me and gave her a hard stare. “Look here, Mils, I didn’t ask for this. I only kissed him because they weren’t going to let me out without trying. Have you met him? He is so arrogant and awful. We’re not staying. As soon as they let me out we’re going home.” I said this with as much conviction as I could muster, knowing she was not going to be pleased.

Books This Week - Caught Running

Hi All! This week I am going to review a book that is a favorite re-read rather than a new book. It has been out for awhile (since 2007) so you may have heard of/read it already but if not, read on. =)

Title: Caught Running
Authors: Madeleine Urban and Abigail Roux
Publisher: Dreamspinner Press
Length: 237 pages
Rating: 5 Quills
Tags: teacher, coach, baseball, low angst, feel good comfort read

Blurb
Ten years after graduation, Jake "the jock" Campbell and Brandon "the nerd" Bartlett are teaching at their old high school and still living in separate worlds. When Brandon is thrown into a coaching job on Jake's baseball team, they find themselves learning more about each other than they'd ever expected.

High school is all about image - even for the teachers. Brandon and Jake have to get past their preconceived notions to find the friendship needed to work together. And somewhere along the way, they discover that perceptions can always change for the better.

Review

Jake is jock who hides the fact that he likes to read and do sudoku puzzles from everyone because they make endless jokes about how stupid jocks should be. Brandon is the epitome of the science geek teacher in tweed but hides an athletic side beneath those slacks and button down shirts. In high school they were at opposite ends of the social spectrum and have assumed, ten years later, that they would still be. However, thrown together due to cutbacks they must reevaluate their assumptions about each other. Both Brandon and Jake tend not to reveal themselves to others and have hidden depths of strength and love to give.

Sunday Snog-ish

Ok you may not know this but sometimes a writer's muse just shuts the hell up and nothing comes. I have been thinking about what to write for this Sunday all weekend and literally NO ideas have entered my brain so instead of writing a wee story for you folks I am doing something a bit different.  Here are fun snogging clips from a few of my favorite gay movies. =) I gift these to you and am now running off to say a prayer that my muse returns in the near future. *crosses fingers*

#1: Shelter - I absolutely love this movie. If you haven't watched it, YOU SHOULD!!!
